***Meeting @ Theodore Roosevelt Recreation Area (aka Groundhog Lock, Locks 22-23), Rt 611, Raubsville, PA
Map pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QPwxXGTxnpGkYUDy6

Come join us on this moderately paced ~4 mile towpath trek to watch the sun set & the full moon rise in the east. We will listen for owls & keep an eye out for other crepuscular critters while learning about the history of the Delaware Canal.

We will meet in the parking lot of Theodore Roosevelt Recreation Area to discuss Groundhog Lock, one of the largest locks along the canal, and a bit about the history and industry of the lost town of Uhlersville. As we talk, we will continue south for ~2 miles along the towpath and turn back to make a 3-4-mile round trip, touching on some of the geological history of the Delaware along the way.

Please bring water, wear sturdy shoes & bring a flashlight or headlamp in case of cloud cover. There will be a flush restroom available by the parking lot.

Program will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather or hazardous driving conditions.
