Join park naturalist and avid birder Rob Bergstresser for some weekend birding! We'll enjoy some bird-friendly, certified organic, shade-grown coffee before heading out on the trails in search of migrating birds. This is the perfect time of year to view some of the early migrating songbirds! Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars, but a limited number of binoculars are available for loan during the program. *Rain will cancel the program. We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) for this program.
***Dogs are not allowed on this hike, or any hike that involves viewing birds.

Join the park naturalist and special guest speaker Tom "Dedko" Lindeman of Dedko's Bees LLC, for a very special presentation on the basics of beekeeping, and the importance of honey bees, native bees, and other vital pollinators.
We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center for this program.

Intro to Beekeeping - DCNR Calendar of Events - Bluebird Trail Look and LearnNockamixon State Park, Quakertown, PA
Join Cavity-Nesting Trail Coordinator Jan Hardner for an informative and exciting session about bluebirds! Hear a presentation on this striking and charismatic native songbird (and other cavity nesting birds), then observe a real bluebird box check. You will get to take a peek at the hatchlings, and learn how our dedicated volunteer monitors work to maintain habitat for cavity nesting birds while also collecting important data for further research. Information will be available for those interested in getting involved in this citizen science project.
No registration required for this free event! Parking is available in Parking Lot 12 (Google Maps Link).
Directions to Environmental Education Center from the Park Office:
1. From the park office parking lot, head northeast by turning right onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.
2. Proceed 0.8 miles to Harrisburg School Road and turn right.
3. Proceed 0.3 miles to the stop sign (entering the park) and turn right.
4. Proceed 0.2 miles to parking lot #12 and park.

Get your feet wet and search for the tiny creatures who make the Skippack Creek their home. Learn with a Ranger what these critters tell us about creek health.
For grades K-5. Walk to the creek is a 1/4 of a mile. Water shoes/socks required.
