What we're about

This is a group focused on the Latin language. We like discussing everything from latin grammar, learning methods, pronunciation all the way to living latin and conversation.

Lingua Latina - Advanced Track

Tonight we hope to finish Caput XXXIV in Familia Romana ("De Arte Poetica"), starting at line 140.

---NB: there are always some RSVP's that don't show up here in meetup, so the number of attendees is always greater---

Let's start with the basics. Whether you feel very comfortable with written Latin or have never learned a single declension, let's bring our grammar books, dictionaries and workbooks and get back to the basics.

We normally go through the next chapter of Lingua Latina (and probably some review of the last few chapters).

We recommend purchasing and bringing the following, to follow along:

  • Lingua Latina - Familia Romana (Hans Orberg)
  • Lingua Latina - A college companion (Jeanne Marie Neumann)
  • Conversational Latin for Oral Proficiency (John C Traupman)

We will also be introducing an absolute beginner's track. So if you've always been interested in Latin but don't know any, come get an introduction to the language!
