Let’s spend Saturday evening in Westfield. There is a nice, walkable downtown with various stores. First, we will eat at Bareburger, a restaurant with food for every diet. Not only do they serve every type of burger, but they serve salads and sandwiches as well. Next, we will get dessert at a nearby cafe and then head over to a local brewery for live music. Afterward we can walk around the town or play some vintage games at Yestercades.

The Raritan Native American Heritage Celebration and Powwow is meeting once again at the Middlesex County Fairgrounds. Come out join in the celebration of indigenous groups from the Americas.

‼️I would purchase my ticket at the door or the day before since there are no refunds if it rains.

‼️We will be attending the powwow within two groups. The first, arrive at the opening at 11am. Natasha will be the host. You are free to stay all day if you wish.

‼️I won’t be arriving until 12:30pm. We will leave around 3:30 pm and we will be having dinner at a vegan restaurant in New Brunswick on their cool and relaxing rooftop. After dinner you can head home or walk around and explore in town with us.

‼️The dinner event will be posted in a separate meetup.

Raritan Pow Wow is a full contest Pow Wow attracting over 500 Native American artists, educators, singers, dancers and performing groups from across the Americas. There will be over 40 artist booths selling crafts, jewelry, food and more. Other highlights of the event include authentic cuisine: buffalo burgers, venison stew and corn soup. Visitors can interact with representatives from tribes of the Lakota, Navajo, Mohawk, Seneca, Cherokee, Aztec, Mayan, Samoan, Hawaiian and many more. There is a tipi raising.

Join us for dinner on the rooftop at Veganized New Brunswick. This popular restaurant is a favorite of vegans and non-vegans. The food is so amazing that you won’t miss the meat!

They have bar for those interested, and they have gluten free and raw vegan options.

The rooftop is not handicap accessible because there is no elevator and a long flight of stairs you must climb up.

Let’s have enjoy an afternoon of tea, sandwiches and desserts at Mathis House in downtown Tom’s River. I searched all the towns up north for a tea house that serves vegan and gluten free options and hadn’t found any. This tea house serves regular options as well as vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options. The owner says it’s because the customers in her other location have very particular diets so she has perfected making food for everyone!
