⚠️ Group Rules & Event Etiquette
General

🚫 Attendance & Behaviour
No‑Shows & Cancellations
- Remove yourself at least 24 hours before an event.
- No‑shows or last‑minute cancellations may result in removal from the group.

Arriving Unannounced
- Do not attend if you’re not on the Going list.
- Turning up without RSVP or prior approval is a security issue and you will be asked to leave.
Late Arrivals
- For small group activities the group will not wait.
- If you’re late, you may be marked as a no‑show.
- Catching up is your responsibility and may not be possible for some events.
Pace & Fitness
- For small group activities
- Stay with the group during small events.

🇵🇱✨ Borsch, Banter & Beautiful Strangers — A Slavic‑Spiced Singles Night

Date Night: Wednesday 15 July
Time: 6pm–8.30pm (or whenever time the vodka tells you to stay)
Location: Borsch, Vodka & Tears, 174 Chapel St. Windsor
Ages 30–55 | Singles only | No married or seperated people | New couples maybe… if they’re very new
Numbers: Limit of 12...maybe more
Menu: https://borschvodkaandtears.au/
Happy Hours: 5pm to 7pm.
Yey, cheap beer/ wine/vodkaIf your heart beats a little faster at the sight of a cabbage roll, if you’ve ever felt spiritually connected to a pierogi, or if you simply believe that vodka is a love language, then darling — this night was practically brewed in a Polish cauldron just for you.
Please note: This event is waitlisted to allow an even mix of genders, there is a creep code and event rules especially around no shows in operation. Read on for how this works. Decisions are made at the discretion of the organiser.
We’re taking Eat Drink Dance Melbourne on a delicious detour to Borsch, Vodka & Tears — the iconic, moody, Eastern‑European den of temptation on 174 Chapel St, Windsor, a stone’s throw from Windsor and Prahran stations.
Perfect for lovers of European culture, Slavic sass, ex-Polish scouts like me and communal tables where sparks tend to fly.
💋 What’s happening?
At 6pm, glide in, grab a drink, and let the warm glow of Polish hospitality (and vodka) soften the edges of your day. We’ll mingle, flirt, banter, and then settle into communal tables — the perfect setup for mixing, matching, rotating, and discovering who pairs best with your pierogi.
👁️Expect:
- Flirty banter that warms you faster than a shot of Żubrówka
- Communal table mischief as we shuffle seats and sample the “local produce”
- Eastern‑European comfort food that hugs you from the inside
- Vodka flights that may or may not improve your flirting technique
- A singles‑only vibe — married people, this one’s not for you
There’s no hard finish time — if the chemistry is flowing, the pierogi are steaming, and the conversation is getting delightfully unhinged, stay as long as your heart (and liver) desires
🥟 Who should come?
- Lovers of European culture, Slavic humour, Ladyboy wannabes, and moody candlelit dining
- Singles who prefer IRL sparks over swiping fatigue
- People who enjoy a little cultural flavour with their flirting
- Anyone who believes romance is best served with butter‑fried pierogi
💘 Flirtation Guidelines
This is a social event, not a pressure cooker.Don’t be pushy about phone numbers — let the moment offer itself
If the vibe is mutual, go for it
Become a regular — I’ll be testing this format over 3–4 events
You’ll likely see the same lovely humans again at future singles nights/events or Eat Drink Dance “open” eventsThe goal is to build a small, recurring ecosystem where people feel comfortable, familiar, and relaxed enough to be themselves.
👥Waitlist & Gender Ratios
To keep things balanced and comfortable:
Event capped at 12 people to test interest, if my star signs are in favour I may increase this to 20Generally guys admitted only after a woman registers (to maintain ratios) at my discretion.
Female Privilege: New Idea
There is usually a waitlist of men. The first female that discretely messages the organiser gets first dibs on any guy that is on the waitlist to have him included. Assuming this occurs within 12 hours of being put into the going list. Otherwise the organiser chooses.Women can be a little flaky (we love them anyway), so I may accept 1–2 extra
🧭The Creep Code
A refined social compass keeps the vibe safe, fun, and drama‑free.
So: No married/Seperated individuals or those already coupled up (generally)
No Tinder Swindler‑style minglersGuys: Please Take Special Note
Must have a clear face photo (no sunglasses, no blurry shadows, no “mysterious man in witness protection”)Don't obscure your identity in other words.
- No wide shots taken from a distance where you can't be identified.
- No yacht/car/jet flexing — if your profile screams “crypto‑adjacent”, you will be gently declined.
- If you are declined, update your profile photo to something less creepy and more classy
Girls: No restrictions — privacy and safety first”
⚠️ SMALL EVENT EXPECTATIONS ⚠️
⏰Late Arrivals
The event starts on time.- More than 15 minutes late without communication = No‑show
- More than 30 minutes late (even with communication) = Not admitted = No Show. Better to join the next event if you haven't been mysteriously disappeared from the group.
- We do not endlessly wait at meeting points. If you’re late, you must find the group yourself.
- Messages are not monitored after 30 minutes.
- This protects the experience for people who arrive on time
👻 No‑Show
No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events- Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event
- No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group
- Last‑minute cancellations (“flaking”) may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist.
👀 Attending Without Being on the Going Lis
- This is a security issue
- Do NOT turn up unannounced
- If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave.
- Event check‑ins are performed
Communication
If there is an issue communicate with the organiser, otherwise group removal may eventuate, depending on my horoscope🌱Why This Event Exist
A few people have asked me to run something for singles, and Meetup is already full of solo attendees. Dating apps feel like a minefield, and IRL conversations tend to be and are rare and sometimes awkward. So this is an experiment — a soft‑launch into a more human, more organic way of meeting people for singles.6 attendees

I want a balanced gender mix, i.e even numbers of girls and guys. I have a creep code operating and event expectations around no shows, read on for how that works.Couples are welcome only if they’re very new (the kind where you’re still pretending you don’t stalk each other’s Instagram stories).
Married people: this one isn’t for you.
We’re keeping the energy light, open, and romantically unencumbered. This event will be waitlisted to help maintain a roughly balanced gender mix — not a perfect science, but enough to keep the social ecosystem feeling fair and fun.
🚶♀️👁️ The Route
A deliciously meandering approximately 10 km journey from Camberwell Railway Station to East Malvern Railway Station, following the Anniversary Trail — a path built for bicycles but secretly perfect for flirty winter walking.Detail here: https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/outer-circle-rail-trail/
Expect:
Leafy suburban pockets with “I could live here” energy
Sweeping shared paths ideal for side‑by‑side banter
Hidden corners of the middle suburbs that feel like your own private discoveryAn early Margret want and lunch stop at Camberwell — , hippy clothes, bric a beach and bargains, warm food, warm hands, warmer conversations. You can exit the walk at any point and catch. train etc back into the city, I think a train line is only a short distance from the actual anniversary trail.
We finish at a café/pub in East Malvern, where the group can thaw out, mingle, and see which conversations want to keep going.
🧣Winter Wisdom & What to Bring
- Comfortable walking shoes (your feet will thank you)
- Snacks + water
- Warm layers — it’s winter, and Melbourne weather loves drama
- A playful, open attitude
- A willingness to chat with strangers who ight not stay strangers
🚶♀️Fitness and etiquette
I like walking at a relaxed pace around 4+km/hr
It's a long walk, so make sure you can keep up and can make the distancePeople who speed ahead aren't really welcome, find a speed walking group instead.
If you are too slow and dawdle you might be asked to leave, same goes with inappropriate behaviour.
Do not turn up un announced and not on the guest list, you will be asked to leave., Check ins will be performed.
No shows will likely be removed from the group. If you can't make it take yourself off the going list

💁♀️ Female Privilege — Early Bird Advantage
If a woman messages the organiser after being added to “Going,” she may nominate someone from the guys waitlist — provided his communication fits the event’s social expectations. Discretion is assured👍This means guys may be delayed entry.
