🌿✨ The Singles Only Middle‑Suburbs Meander
Fairfield → East Malvern via the Anniversary Trail
Saturday 4th July, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Ages: 30–55 | Singles only | No married or seperated people | New couples maybe… if they’re very new

Meet: Outside the Fairfield railway station at 11 a.m for a 11.15 am start. On the side where the trains are moving away from the city.

Cost: $0... yes nothing

💘The Vibe
A flirty, whimsical winter wander for singles only — the kind of gentle, slow‑burn social chemistry that happens when you mix crisp air, shared adventure, and a trail that practically invites conversation.

Please note: This* event* is waitlisted.
I want a balanced gender mix, i.e even numbers of girls and guys. I have a creep code operating and event expectations around no shows, read on for how that works.

Couples are welcome only if they’re very new (the kind where you’re still pretending you don’t stalk each other’s Instagram stories).

Married people: this one isn’t for you.

We’re keeping the energy light, open, and romantically unencumbered. This event will be waitlisted to help maintain a roughly balanced gender mix — not a perfect science, but enough to keep the social ecosystem feeling fair and fun.

🚶‍♀️👁️ The Route
A deliciously meandering 15 km journey from Fairfield Railway Station to East Malvern Railway Station, following the Anniversary Trail — a path built for bicycles but secretly perfect for flirty winter walking.

Detail here: https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/outer-circle-rail-trail/

Expect:
Leafy suburban pockets with “I could live here” energy
Sweeping shared paths ideal for side‑by‑side banter
Hidden corners of the middle suburbs that feel like your own private discovery

A mid‑walk lunch stop at East Camberwell — warm food, warm hands, warmer conversations. This is also the half way point at around 8km, you can exit the walk at this point and catch. train etc back into the city

We finish at a cafĂŠ/pub in East Malvern, where the group can thaw out, mingle, and see which conversations want to keep going.

🧣Winter Wisdom & What to Bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes (your feet will thank you)
  • Snacks + water
  • Warm layers — it’s winter, and Melbourne weather loves drama
  • A playful, open attitude
  • A willingness to chat with strangers who ight not stay strangers

🚶‍♀️Fitness and etiquette
I like walking at a relaxed pace around 4+km/hr
It's a long walk, so make sure you can keep up and can make the distance

People who speed ahead aren't really welcome, find a speed walking group instead.

If you are too slow and dawdle you might be asked to leave, same goes with inappropriate behaviour.

Do not turn up un announced and not on the guest list, you will be asked to leave., Check ins will be performed.

No shows will likely be removed from the group. If you can't make it take yourself off the going list

💘 Flirtation Guidelines
This is a social event, not a pressure cooker.Don’t be pushy about phone numbers — let the moment offer itself
If the vibe is mutual, go for it
Become a regular — I’ll be testing this format over 3–4 events
You’ll likely see the same lovely humans again at future singles nights/events or Eat Drink Dance “open” events

The goal is to build a small, recurring ecosystem where people feel comfortable, familiar, and relaxed enough to be themselves.

👥Waitlist & Gender Ratios
To keep things balanced and comfortable:
Event capped at max 30 people to test interest,

Generally guys admitted only after a woman registers (to maintain ratios) at my discretion until the format matures. If you become a regular I'm not so discriminating as long as you behave yourself.

Women can be a little flaky (we love them anyway), so I may accept 1–2 extra

🧭The Creep Code
A refined social compass keeps the vibe safe, fun, and drama‑free.
So: No married/seperated individuals or those already coupled up (generally)
No Tinder Swindler‑style minglers

Guys: Please Take Special Note

  • Must have a clear face photo (no sunglasses, no blurry shadows, no “mysterious man in witness protection”)
  • No wide shots taken from a distance where you can't be identified.
  • No yacht/car/jet flexing — if your profile screams “crypto‑adjacent”, you will be gently declined.
  • If you are declined, update your profile photo to something less creepy.

Girls: No restrictions — privacy and safety first”

⚠️ SMAL EVENT EXPECTATIONS ⚠️

⏰Late Arrivals
The event starts on time.

  • More than 15 minutes late without communication = No‑show
  • More than 30 minutes late (even with communication) = Not admitted = No Show
  • We do not endlessly wait at meeting points. If you’re late, you must find the group yourself.
  • Messages are not monitored after 30 minutes.
  • This protects the experience for people who arrive on time

👻 No‑Shows
No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events.

  • Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event.
  • No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group.
  • Last‑minute cancellations (“flaking”) may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist.

👀 Attending Without Being on the Going List

  • This is a security issue.
  • Do NOT turn up unannounced.
  • If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave.
  • Event check‑ins are performed.

🌱Why This Event Exists
A few people have asked me to run something for singles, and Meetup is already full of solo attendees. Dating apps feel like a minefield, and IRL conversations tend to be and are rare and sometimes awkward. So this is an experiment — a soft‑launch into a more human, more organic way of meeting people for singles..
