Indigenous Games @ Hesher's Pizza / Oakland
Details
Indigenous peoples day is right around the corner, so we'll be honoring it by playing some indigenous themed games!! I (Gabi) the EBGG main organizer, am roughly 1/16 Native American and was raised with native wisdom / teachings / stories, so this theme is near and dear to my heart! We've never done solely this theme before and were excited that we have enough games in this category!!
Excited to say we'll have two people will be hosting SPIRIT ISLAND! Spirit Island a game where you play as indigenous gods raining down thunder, lighting, and all kinds of godly things to thwart the colonialists efforts. Use your powerful godly abilities with each chosen god to play that plays wilding different from the rest!! we'll have two games going of this popular game!! Justin and Hetul will be hosting!
Bret will be hosting Teotihuacan: City of Gods TEOTIHUACAN: CITY OF GODS...and he has the kickstarter version too! In the game, each player commands a force of worker dice, which grow in strength with every move. On your turn, you move a worker around a modular board, always choosing one of two areas of the location tile you land on: one offering you an action (and a worker upgrade), the other providing you with a powerful bonus (but without an upgrade). Build houses for the inhabitants of the city, and raise the legendary and breath-taking Pyramid of the Sun in the center of the city.
So far, games that will be there are:
SPIRIT ISLAND --- indigenous gods killing colonialists
TEOTIHUACAN: CITY OF GODS -- play as atecs and build breathtaking pyramids
ESCAPE THE TEMPLE - get out of the falling temple
FORBIDDEN ISLAND - make it out of the sinking island
