Join us in the studio for a relaxed afternoon of Life Drawing, with the bonus of a slice of cake and a mug of tea! During this class we will observe the male nude through a series of shorter and longer poses. This class is open to all artists of different experience levels and new members are most welcome.

£15 entitles you to guided tuition, refreshments and free car parking. You may like to bring your own materials to this class, but we will have sheets of paper, pencils and charcoal on offer too. You are also able to borrow drawing boards to lean on.

ART FOR ENJOYMENT

Our popular Art for Enjoyment classes run every Wednesday evening, 6.30 - 8.30pm, from our fantastic Art Studio based on Chadwick Road in Eccles. The classes are relaxed, friendly and supportive. You are encouraged to make artwork at your own pace and in your own style.

The classes are an opportunity to develop your art making skills and knowledge with access to great facilities, materials and equipment. The classes primarily focus on painting and drawing techniques, and we cover a range of topics, themes and ideas.

Tuition, materials, equipment and refreshments are included within the price and onsite parking is available. The cost per class is £12 for a single lesson or four consecutive sessions at £40.

ART BASICS
5 week short course
Thursday evenings, 6.30 - 8pm
5th, 12th, 19th, 26th June and 3rd July
£49 for the five week course / £12 for a single lesson

Our Art Basics sessions are tailored to those who have not picked up a pencil in years, individuals who wish to reignite their creativity and those who would like a refresher. The classes begin with a short presentation before a structured activity takes place using specific materials.

This half term we will explore a range of painting, collage and drawing methodologies and you will be shown how to successfully use a variety of wet and dry media. By taking part on this course, you will improve your observational drawing skills, you will gain a better understanding of how to use watercolours, acrylic paints and mixed-media processes, and you will have participated in a variety of mindful activities. All materials, refreshments and car parking is provided, so all you need to bring is yourself!

Session One: 5th June - Watercolour studies of birds
Spend a gentle evening in the studio exploring different watercolour techniques and produce your own selection of paintings British and tropical birds. You will have the opportunity to use various watercolour paints, watercolour pencils and pens.

Session Two: 12th June - Architectural features in shading pencils
Develop your understanding of shading pencil techniques and create an observational study of the architectural elements on cartridge paper. During this taught class, you will learn about line and tonal variation, and you will have a brilliant drawing to take home!

Session Three: 19th June - Scraperfoil insects
Learn how to create the illusion of a 3D form using multicoloured Scraperfoil. You will slowly remove the surface layer of the board to reveal metallic undertones. You will be guided through the process and by the end of the class you will have a unique artwork depicting a beetle, butterfly or bumblebee.

Session Four: 26th June - Abstract compositions in acrylic paints
Step into the studio and enjoy an evening experimenting with paint application, using a variety of tools to create a mixture of textures and patterns. You will be introduced to different artists and their work, and you will have the opportunity to make your own abstract artwork in response to a range of examples.

Session Five: 3rd July - Nature inspired collage and ink
Embrace a range of mixed papers and textured materials alongside black ink and dip pens during this dynamic class. You will take your time to arrange your collage composition on top of cartridge paper before you use bamboo pens and dip pens to draw a variety of natural forms.

Paint the Masters

Get your sparkle on and embrace plenty of gold and metallic hues, during this informative and inspiring painting workshop, held in our positive and supportive art space. During this class you will have the opportunity to learn facts about Gustav Klimt, and you will discover the range of patterns and motifs within his artwork.

You will be taught how to sketch out your portrait, flowing fabric and repeating patterns onto canvas board, before being guided through the application of acrylic paint. By the end of the workshop you will have your very own golden masterpiece to take home!

We are a friendly commuity focused studio space, so you are most welcome to take part in the class by yourself, or equally, bring friends and make a social afternoon of it! All materials, hot drinks and tuition included.
