Beyond Meditation—What Is Your Key to Ever-Greater Awareness?

Join other like-minded individuals for an interactive spiritual discussion that will explore the topics of dreams, past lives, and inner guidance. Learn about and experience spiritual exercises—including chanting and contemplation—that can enhance awareness and engender voyages into higher worlds.

This discussion class, presented by Eckankar in the Hudson Valley and sponsored by the Julia L. Butterfield Memorial Library, will meet in the library’s back room at 10 Morris Ave, Cold Spring, NY, 10516.

This is the fourth and final session of a four-part series. New participants are always welcome. The facilitators will briefly review key ideas from the previous sessions, making it easy to join the discussion, even if this is your first time attending. This spiritual discussion is open to people of all faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs.

We hope you'll join us for the concluding session of this inspiring series on Monday, August 24, from 7:00–8:30 p.m.

Facilitators Dr. Cynthia Ligenza and Tom McCoy look forward to meeting and sharing experiences, learning from others, and exploring invaluable techniques that may contain the keys to your highest awareness.

Points of discussion will draw from the workbook Eckankar’s Spiritual Experiences Guidebook by spiritual master Harold Klemp. All attendees will receive a complimentary copy to support their continued exploration at home between classes and beyond.

The uplifting Sound of HU allows us to harmonize with Divine energy.

Singing HU can awaken the divine state of consciousness within us. We begin with a 12-minute HU chant and a short silent contemplation. A conversation follows during which everyone will have the opportunity to share and ask questions. Join us to learn an easy way to bring the awareness of Soul into your everyday life.

What’s happening this Friday

6:15 pm - 6:50pm Sound of Soul Event: Revitalize and Renew with the Sacred Sound of HU.

At a Sound of Soul event, join others in chanting this ancient mantra for about 12 minutes, continuing to allow this uplifting vibration to be experienced in a few moments of quiet contemplation. Afterwards, enjoy an open spiritual discussion on any questions, insights and experiences that you may have.

7:00 pm–8:15 pm: “What is the Path of Spiritual Freedom? An Introduction to the Basics of Eckankar”

Learn if the core concepts of Eckankar align with your spiritual goals.
When you’re encountering a spiritual path for the first time, it can often take a while to understand what it’s really about, but in our fast-paced city, time is of the essence. This event is designed to provide a clear, honest, and joyful introduction to the core concepts that guide all students of Eckankar. This will help you determine if it aligns with your current spiritual goals.

We welcome people from all teachings, backgrounds, and experience levels. Come ready to listen, ask questions, and share your own spiritual journey with others.

8:15 pm–9:00 pm: Fellowship
Fellowship is your chance to meet with old friends, meet new ones, share stories, and laugh a lot. Sometimes these spontaneous moments are where the deepest connections and conversations happen. We might even have food too!

Each moment of life is a sacred opportunity to recognize life’s gifts with a grateful and loving heart.

At this Sound of Soul Event, you are invited to join others in chanting HU, an ancient mantra for about twelve minutes, followed by a short time in contemplation. This will be followed by a spiritual discussion in which you are invited to share your spiritual experiences, ideas and ask questions.

HU is a sacred mantra—the Sound behind all sounds. An ancient name for God, HU is a carrier of love between God and Soul. Singing HU can bring healing for body, mind, and spirit. It enables you to open your heart to experience the miracles that occur when you give and receive love.
