Every Friday at the ECK Center is your chance to mingle with our diverse spiritual community. Come to our open house during the afternoon. In the evening, join us for our Sound of Soul event and a viewing and discussion of the video talk, “A New Year of Spiritual Growth,” by the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, Sri Doug Kunin.

What’s happening this Friday
4:00 - 6:00: Open House & Individual Spiritual Study
Feel free to stop by and visit. Hosts are available to answer questions, orient you to ECK books or materials, and give you a tour of our home in NYC. If you’re looking for a quiet moment to do a spiritual exercise, read a book, or maybe even meet with a friend, this is a great time to visit. It’s also a great time to learn more about Eckankar if you’ve got questions!

6:00 pm - 6:50 pm Sound of Soul Event
You are invited to join others in chanting HU, an ancient mantra, for about twelve minutes, followed by a short time in contemplation. This will be followed by a spiritual discussion in which you are invited to share your spiritual experiences, ideas, and questions.

7:00 pm–8:15 pm: Discover Wisdom in the Video Talk by the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, Sri Doug Kunin: “A New Year of Spiritual Growth,” from the January 2026 ECK Light and Sound Service at the Temple of ECK in Chanhassen

This ECK Video Night is a wonderful, relaxed, heart-centered evening in which we watch a special 30-minute talk by the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. Afterwards, we enjoy a lively spiritual discussion on the themes and ideas presented in the video presentation.
The theme of Sri Doug’s talk is a “New Year of Spiritual Growth,” but he suggests you can declare a new golden age for yourself in any unit of time and for wherever you are in your life: a new month, a new day with new goals to pursue, and with the aid of Divine Spirit you can alter your line of destiny. He shares stories about our need to have purpose in our lives, a reason for living, not merely existing. And he shares his encounter at the age of 5 with space, infinity, God, and the “I am” that was wearing his body with yellow shorts. Through stories of his lucid dreams and stories shared by others, he talks of the golden contract with divine spirit—that every encounter will move us forward spiritually. From Sri Doug, “Every atom of life is here for a creative purpose, and it's seeking fulfillment of its divine purpose.”

8:15 pm–9:30 pm: Fellowship
Fellowship is your chance to meet with old friends, meet new ones, share stories, and laugh a lot. Sometimes these spontaneous moments are where the deepest connections and conversations happen. We might even have food too!
