Welcome to the first Edge Improv Lab longform workshop! Get ready to dive into the world of the Harold, a format that is all about spotting patterns, exploring themes, and making group discoveries. Over two sessions we will::

- Understand the three-beat Harold structure.
- Learn three different ways of creating group scenes.
- Discover strategies for initiating scenes and building premises.
- Listen, support, and heighten already established ideas.
- Explore the role of themes and callbacks to create an inspiring performance.
- Experiment with mixing different worlds within the same show.

By the end of the workshop you will have a comprehensive understanding of the Harold format and the proficiency to perform it with flair and creativity.

Level

Suitable for players with some improv experience. You do not need experience with longform, and ideally you feel comfortable playing in simple scenes. If you are unsure about whether this workshop is a good choice for you, please reach out to Georgi or Edyta. We're happy to answer your questions!

About the teacher

Edyta is an improviser with over 7 years of experience. She started her improv journey in Warsaw, Poland with Wigwam Impro Theater. After moving to Munich she became a regular at Rice Cookie Improv, initially as an eager participant, later as a skilled workshop facilitator. In 2024 her love for improv motivated her to co-found Edge Improv Lab. You can regularly see her on stage performing longform with The Blue Couch improv group.

Important things to know

Please bring non-slip socks or a second pair of shoes. We are not allowed to use our street shoes in the venue, and the floor can be slippery. We highly recommend comfortable clothes which allow for movement and possibly sitting on the floor.

We ask that you do not take photos or videos during the session.

The workshop is in English.

You may cancel for a full refund until one week before the start. Cancellation after that date is not possible.
