About us
Edinburgh Dog Care Exchange is a friendly group for dog owners who would like to build a trusted local network of people who can occasionally help each other with dog care.
Some dog owners occasionally need help because they live alone, do not have family nearby, travel, work long hours, or face unexpected commitments. Others may be in a good position to help because they work from home, have flexible routines, enjoy having another dog around, or simply like the idea of mutual support between responsible dog owners.
This group is for people who may sometimes need help looking after their dog, and who may also be happy to look after someone else’s dog for a few hours, a day, a week, or longer.
The idea is to meet regularly in public places, starting with relaxed dog walks, so people and dogs can get to know each other gradually. There is no pressure to exchange details or make arrangements straight away. Members are encouraged to build trust slowly, offer their contact details only when comfortable, and make their own responsible decisions.
This is not a commercial dog-sitting service. It is a community group for friendly, responsible dog owners who want to create real human connection and mutual support around dog care.
