Free online guided exercise session on looking after your legs and body, enabling you to hike more, with less pain and move more safely on the mountains.
As a mountain guide, I need to be able to hike day after day. I will guide you through my simple routine that I do on my days off the hill, which maintains my legs and body for regular hiking.
The exercises are suitable for all abilities. Variations of exercises will be demonstrated, so you can choose a suitable level of no difficulty.
Prepare for the session by...
- Wearing stretchy clothing
- having a step you can "step-up" on - the bottom step of a staircase might work
- having something to support you on your step... walls or trekking poles
- having a yoga mat or soft, grippy floor area
- a flat wall you can lean against with a grippy floor surface
Important notes:
- ensure you try the easiest moves first and progress slowly to the more advanced movements
- none of the exercises should cause pain, if any movements during the session cause you pain, stop the movement immediately
This event is free to attend. It is open to people outside of Scottish Hillwalking.
