A monthly social event for comic lovers & creators

Edinburgh Comics Club is a welcoming community for comic lovers and creators of all backgrounds. We meet to share ideas, discuss favourite comics, and stay creatively active. Alongside conversations about artists, characters, and storylines, we also draw, sketch, and explore our own projects together.
Members are welcome to bring any artwork they’re working on so we can chat, share ideas, and support each other’s creative growth. The group is open to younger artists, complete beginners, returning hobbyists, and anyone who has ever wanted to draw comics or simply talk about them.

We’re also interested in creating short collaborative comics that can evolve over several meetups. One long‑term goal is to collect our work into a small DIY fanzine to share within the group. In the future, if we produce enough material, we’d also love to organise a small exhibition in a suitable local gallery or creative space. We’re open to all suggestions, ideas, and possibilities that might grow from this shared journey into comics and creativity.
The city of Edinburgh is full of talented comic artists and storytellers, and this group aims to bring people together, build friendships, and spark creativity through a friendly, inclusive, and inspiring comics community.

This meetup will be a casual get together where we can get to know one another and discuss our various goals, share inspiration and maybe share some of our work (however developed or rough it may be, this is a judgement free zone where we all want to improve) and we can decide together what the format future meetups may take: drawing sessions, themed prompts where everyone creates a short comic (one, two, or more pages — whatever suits each person), and then discuss the work at the next meetup. We could talk about the art, the storytelling, what works well, what could be improved — friendly, constructive conversations.

Let's meet for drinks, chat and drawing! Bring your own materials and draw whatever you like, if you are working on a project or just drawing for fun, experienced or looking for a new hobby everyone is welcome. This is a great way to socialise and meet new people.

It would be great if people could show their support for the venue by buying a drink (it doesn't have to be alcoholic ) or some food.

This isn't a particularly boozy event if that is something that would put you off, but at the same time don't let that put you off having a drink, just be respectful of the other attendees. Draw as much or as little as you want, also arrive and leave as you wish, the times are only a suggestion (if you plan on arriving after 6.30 just leave a note in the event chat)
