What we’re about
A friendly space to explore lacemaking together!
Lacemaking is a beautiful, intricate, and historic craft—but where do you even start? Edmonton Lacemakers is a casual, welcoming group for anyone curious about learning, practicing, or simply appreciating the art of lace. Whether you’re a total beginner, an occasional hobbyist, or just fascinated by the patterns and techniques, this group is for you!
Our goal is to create a relaxed, social space where we can learn together, share tips, and explore the world of lace—without pressure or perfection.
We are hoping to meet:
- Beginners who want to try bobbin lace, tatting, or other lace techniques.
- Crafters & fiber artists who enjoy embroidery, knitting, or crochet and want to try something new (or rather, old).
- Anyone fascinated by lace history & design and looking for a fun, social way to explore it.
What to expect:
☕ Casual meetups at cafés, libraries, or community spaces to chat and work on lace projects.
🎓 Hands-on learning – share resources, try new techniques, and learn together as a group.
📜 Lace appreciation – explore historical lace, patterns, and styles from around the world.
✨ No experience needed – just curiosity and a love for beautiful things!
