About us
Hello there, welcome to the ELM family! My name is Cody, I am the founder and leading host of one of the TOP 3 language meetups in the entire WORLD! Click here to see: https://tinyurl.com/ysx8h4ss
It is my mission to provide an exciting, dynamic, and non-judgmental space for people to make real life social connections with people in the languages they are learning.
I'm a native speaker of English, and I can also speak (in order of proficiency) German, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese. These also happen to be the most popular languages at ELM, but other languages are also available depending on who shows up! The format of the events are explained more in detail in their respective event pages.

Languages and Beer π» Practice languages with good drinks, food, and people π
The Pint, 8032 - 104 Street, Edmonton, AB, CAPLEASE READ
This is an 18+ event! How it works: When you sign up to the event, you will be prompted to write down which language(s) you would like to practice and what your native language is. Based off this information, I will set up language-specific tables at the meetup. The tables will be clearly marked with flags.
If you would like to practice multiple languages, feel free to bounce around! There is only one rule at Languages and Beer: you can only speak the language of the table you are sitting at! People attending this event should be at least a little bit conversational in their target language, otherwise you might find yourself not having a great time.
Languages and Beer will take place every Friday from 7:00 until 11:00, unless specifically stated otherwise. You will be required to purchase at least one drink (doesn't need to be alcoholic) out of respect for the venue.
All ELM events are free, but if you are financially stable I would very much appreciate a cash donation at the meetup or through our GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/7448331d
Lastly, I understand if you are unable to come, but please at least let me know beforehand. Being a no show is not cool, and it messes up the organization and flow of the event. If you are a no show, you will be instantly removed from the group. In addition, behavior that is seen as sexual harassment, aggressive, creepy, or just plain uncomfortable will result in a ban. People come to our events to practice languages and make friends, not to get hit on, so please be respectful!
If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a direct message or post a comment. I'm looking forward to seeing you there!
