About us

Vipassana meditation in Edmonton — silence, breath, and a community that practises. Next retreats: Nov 12–15 and Dec 17–20 at Mount St. Francis, Cochrane AB.

We meditate together in the Vipassana tradition: sitting with the breath, observing body sensations, and letting the mind settle without fighting it. No mantras, no belief system required.

What we do
— Group sitting sessions with short guidance at the start
— Simple instruction for beginners, so a first sit is never confusing
— Open discussion afterwards: what came up, what got in the way
— Weekend retreats in Alberta for anyone ready to go deeper

Who this is for
Complete beginners who have never meditated, and experienced practitioners who want the discipline of sitting with others. If you have tried a meditation app and it never stuck, group practice is usually what makes it stick.

Upcoming retreats

November 12–15: 3-day silent retreat
Mount St. Francis Retreat Centre, Cochrane, AB. Vipassana practice, yoga twice a day, Tibetan prostrations, and a sound bath with Tibetan bowls — one group session and one individual session for every participant. Led by Artem Rusinov and Valerii Bandurko.

December 17–20: 3-day silent retreat
Same venue, right before the holidays. A quiet reset instead of the December rush. From $750, all-inclusive — meals and accommodation included.

Both retreats are open to beginners. Spots are limited by the size of the centre. Details and booking: vipassana.ca

Practical notes
Wear comfortable clothes. Chairs and cushions are available — you do not need to sit on the floor. Arrive a few minutes early; we start on time and the room goes quiet.

Questions are welcome before you commit to anything. Come once and see how it feels.
