# Tech Wednesdays is Edmonton's weekly meetup for people who build things and people who want to get into tech.

## Software, hardware, startups, side projects, research, whatever. Every Wednesday, no exceptions, this city's tech scene gets in a room and talks.

## That's the entire event.

There is no format. Nobody presents. No keynote, no panel, no pitch competition, no sponsor table, no slide deck, no icebreaker games. You walk in, someone asks what you're working on, and you're in a conversation.
We leave the agenda out on purpose. Organizers of most tech events point everything at the stage: speakers, sponsors, rows of chairs facing forward. Then everyone tells you afterward that the hallway conversations were the best part. Tech Wednesdays is the hallway.
It exists because Edmonton's tech scene used to feel disconnected. Good people, good companies, good projects, each working in their own corner with no reliable place to bump into each other. Show up a few Wednesdays in a row and you stop being a stranger. Show up for a few months and you know what's happening in Edmonton tech before it hits LinkedIn: who's hiring, who's raising, who went full-time on their side project.
We've run 100+ weeks. You don't check a calendar or wait for a ticket drop. It's Wednesday, so it's on.
Who comes: founders, engineers, designers, product people, students, researchers, investors, career switchers, and people between things figuring out their next move. Some have been in tech for 20 years. Some haven't written a line of code yet.
That second group belongs here as much as anyone. You break into tech through people, and half the room stood where you're standing a few years ago. If you're switching careers, learning to code, finishing a bootcamp, or deciding whether tech is for you, come ask them how they got in. They'll tell you.
If you're new to the city, this is the fastest way into the scene. If you've been here for years and think nothing is happening in Edmonton, come find out how wrong you are. And if you're nervous about walking in alone, everyone in that room did it alone the first time. Talking to people you haven't met is what the event is for.
Show up on a Wednesday.
