Details

Another great line up for our September Virtual EEA Meetup, we can't wait to see you there!

Schedule

5pm BST - Intro and welcome from Conor Svensson

5.15pm BST - Melanie Marsollier - Senior Product Manager Blockchain - Splunk

Know what your nodes did last night!

Hacked, attacked, slashed, or did your nodes simply break down? The only way to know is to monitor your infrastructure and the ledger data. Splunk has been working with dozens of enterprises to bring visibility to Ethereum mainnet and testnets, GoQuorum and Besu, L2s, and more!

In the first section of the talk, see firsthand how organizations are leveraging on-chain, off-chain, and cross-chain data, through Splunk Connect for Ethereum, an OSS developed by Splunk. See how capabilities such as automatic ABI decoding make life easier for instance when searching for the semantic aspects of smart contracts. Watch the moment when we get scammed out of real cryptocurrency.

In the second section of the talk, preview monitoring tools for blockchain node operation. Get a sneak peek of a mission control board of logging, metrics, tracing, transaction analytics, and security, for a live node on Ethereum.

In the third section, discover what we see inside of Splunk as we monitor transactions coming from the Baseline protocol.

Finally, we want YOU to let us know how we can improve monitoring and give direction to Splunk’s monitoring solution development effort.

In 2018, Melanie operated validator nodes in a proof of authority blockchain, POA. Melanie developed an interest in the Bitcoin and blockchain community in 2015, when she joined a start-up, ChangeTip, which specialized in the use of Bitcoin for micropayments.

5.45pm BST - Breakout Rooms - your chance to network!

6.15pm BST - Kieren James-Lubin - President & CEO at BlockApps

Sustainability: It’s a Data Problem

Companies across the globe have set ambitious goals to reduce their carbon footprint, but the need for trustworthy emissions data to demonstrate progress is growing more apparent – and blockchain may hold the keys to enhanced transparency.

Despite the eagerness to lower carbon dioxide emissions, current means of recording emissions cannot keep pace with goals for the future. Right now, the methods of tracking carbon emissions are inefficient, hugely expensive, and inaccurate. There is a critical need for companies to understand and report their emission data, but the complexity of this endeavor presents a huge challenge.

Speaker Bio
