Title: Social Movements Take Control
How do create better stakeholder-driven governance, with consistent, effective and resilience in community management? There is a renewed focus on citizen and stakeholder governance, along with developing infrastructure for local community resilience, inclusion and public health. Several of these topics were covered in the 2020 Blockchain for Social Impact conference.
Projects from numerous institutions - ranging from the City of Austin to the World Bank and UNICEF are showcasing various frameworks - including the use of distributed ledgers, blockchain identities and - for solving intractable social challenges.
Specific projects such as the MyPass program of the City of Austin, as well as exploratory ideas we are looking at - through the use of NFTs, bounties or otherwise, are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in this space. We will be exploring new, related ideas in the 2021 Blockchain for Social Impact Ideation and Incubator effort.
