What we’re about
Eikonoklaste is an loose-organization of like-minded (or unlike-minded) individuals who share one common purpose, to push bold thoughts into the world. Whether you do this as a chef, an entrepeneur, an artist, a builder, or even a father/mother, what's important is that you are not afraid to be ambitious in a way that can challenge conventional thought and carve your own path while being grounded in self-awareness. We take our name from the greek word "iconoclasts" or those who challenge cherished beliefs.
Eikonoklaste is not meant to be trendy, it's also not meant to be contrarian, only those with radical honesty and capable introspection should apply here. We are not looking to be an outlet for anyone to dominate, grandstand or trauma dump. An absolute requirement is to have the capacity to let others take space to share their opinion, to share their journey. Our pursuit is to inspire inspiring dialogue not for likes or applause, but for the sake of it's existence and then to allow it to promptly vanish into the night along with all of us.
We host dinners, we host drinks, but more than anything this is a group where we intend to keep a candle lit for those who are seeking more from life than what is readily apparent or obvious. Something deeper, something challenging, something outside of the norm thats both intriguing and enriching. There's no constant pressure here, it doesn't have to be "deep" every day. We are selective with our members but we are just like any social club, nothing perpetually serious. You just come as you are and don't hold back, that's all we ask. If you know, you know.
To join the group, please message the current "Meetup Ambassador" John W. This group is invite only while we are exploring this platform, serious inquires only please. There will be a brief set of interview questions as a prerequisite to an invite.

Update 4/8/2025:
We have just launched this portal to the group on Meetup while the site is being worked on. We've been doing events for some time but have recently decided to open things up to the public a little.
A little about me, I am the founder of this group. We started this in 2022, when we had enjoyed a few interesting dinner parties where the subject was more involved than the usual table talk. This became something I hosted regularly and it's been touch and go ever since. At present, we have about 14 or so members, with many less than active as life moves on.
At the core it's a monthly to bi-monthly get together of random members, usually curated by myself based on backgrounds, interests (to keep things interesting of course). Occasionally I'll host donation-only dinners, we don't gatekeep based on financial standing. There's a seat at the table for anyone who is engaging and thought provoking. Usually we keep it secluded to 6 or less people at a time, to ensure a fair amount intimacy and privacy.
No subject is taboo, so do not come into this with a predisposition to outrage or shock. Nobody is trying to trigger anyone, but nobody should be triggered either. Mutual respect is a must, but conventional boundaries can be pushed as long as it's exploratory in nature and not meant to intentionally aggravate. That can sometimes be hard in San Francisco for some folks. Nuff said.
