Thunder Mountain

This breathtakingly beautiful hike is 8 steep miles out and back at high elevation (9400'), so it's tough. Expect nearly 5 hours of hiking with spectacular views most of the way and especially on top. Be prepared for chilly weather, high temperature in the 40s.

The [dirt] parking lot is next to highway 88, and there's a sign right there. We're meeting at the map, which is in the parking lot (no cell service expected). Entering "Thunder Mountain Trailhead" on google maps can make sure you don't miss the sign.
