Stay out of the heat and enjoy some fireworks from the El Dorado Trail. The annual 3rd of July fireworks show in EDH town center is less than 3 miles north and we should have a clear view of it. This will be mostly in the dark, so bring some sort of light.

This is a 7 mile total out and back. Expect mild hills, lots of cows, a creek, bridges, birds, and rabbits. According to https://edhtowncenter.com/event/2026-fireworks-and-freedom-concert-live-music-by-hip-service/ the fireworks should start around 9:40pm.

Park on the side of Latrobe road in the wide gravel area just before Latrobe Creek Road (which is a tiny dirt road). It's across the street and slightly further south from the Lehman Barn.

Rules reminder:

  • No dogs allowed.
  • If you can't make it, please try to change your RSVP so that we aren't waiting for you. Even doing it a minute before start time helps.
  • You hike at your own risk. We try to keep people from getting lost or injured, but you are ultimately responsible for yourself and knowing your limits.
  • Any sort of bigotry (based on gender identity, race, religion, etc.) is unwelcome and would result in removal.
