🎉 Welcome Home Gregory! Epic 7,200+ Mile E‑Bike Journey Celebration & Potluck Picnic
📅 Saturday, July 25 📍 Lake Needwood – Section 2, Shelter G
Let’s give Gregory the warm homecoming he deserves after completing his incredible 5‑month, 7,200+ mile E‑Bike adventure from West Palm Beach to Los Angeles. We’re celebrating with a community potluck picnic filled with great food, friends, and stories you won’t believe — including the night he ended up sleeping next to a skunk.
🚴 Morning Ride – Kickoff
MD Trail 2F - E-Biking from Lake Needwood to ICC - Henson Ver 2 · Ride with GPS 18.5 miles
We’ll start the celebration with a group ride, meeting at the Lake Needwood Section 2 parking area at 10:45 AM, with wheels rolling at 11 AM sharp. All riders should be finished by 1 PM. If you arrive earlier or later, no worries — the route is easy to follow and welcoming for all levels.
NOTE: This is an awesome new route created by Rich C, designed almost entirely on off‑road paved bike paths with minimal, gentle elevation and plenty of smooth downhills. You’ll finish with a smile on your face — it’s a fantastic, easy, enjoyable ride.
🍽️ Potluck Picnic – 2 PM
The grill will be hot and ready for anyone who wants to cook. We expect the feast to begin around 2 PM. If you’re not participating in the morning ride, please plan to arrive by 1 PM to socialize and help with setup so everything is ready for Gregory’s big welcome.
👥 Community Time
This will be a perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow riders, catch up on their adventures, and share stories from the trails. There will be plenty of time to visit with Gregory and hear firsthand about his unbelievable cross‑country experiences.
Please bring lawn chairs or comfortable seating so you can relax and enjoy the afternoon.
