The Salem Witch Trials and the Power of Fear

In 1692, a group of teenage girls began having bizarre fits and claimed witches in the community were persecuting them. By the end of the year, twenty women and men had been executed for witchcraft. Accusations spiraled out of control, legal safeguards failed, and fear gained the upper hand. Join historian Joyce Haworth as she lays out the true story of one of the strangest and most painful episodes in American history.
