City Retreat weekend Yoga & Massage for relaxation & letting go (Amsterdam)
Are you looking for a weekend to completely relax, without having to travel? Do you need a moment of deep relaxation, time for yourself to let go of your daily stress? Christian and Tijs offer you a weekend city retreat to give yourself this gift. It is an ideal opportunity to connect with your body, enjoy touch and find peace and stillness in your head. You will be completely pampered with nice yoga exercises and we will give each other wonderful relaxing massages. This way you will enter the autumn with a healthy inner harmony.
You will come into closer contact with yourself this weekend. The combination of massage and playful yoga brings you more balance for your body and mind. You open your senses, you experience how nice it is to move, stretch, sweat and make your body warm and full of energy. And you will discover how pleasant touch can be, in an atmosphere of trust and connection. In addition to yoga and massage, we will do contact and attention exercises. We will also cleanse our inner self with healthy food that helps to "detox" our bodies.
Yoga not only gives you peace of mind, it also helps you to let go. Some yoga postures give your organs an internal massage, while others work on lengthening your muscles and tendons. Christian's playful, inquiring and interdisciplinary form of yoga is inspired by ashtanga and vinyasa yoga. By meditation, breath exercises and postures, we will work on more body awareness, strength, flexibility and making our energy flow. Some exercises will be in pairs, to create connection with each other.
On Saturdays, the flowing massage mainly provides relaxation. We work with Swedish and Californian massage styles and deep tissue techniques. On Sunday we let everything go and we use massage techniques that remove all waste from the muscle and connective tissue and release energetic ballast. We do this with Alchemy of Touch massage and Myofascial Energetic Release.
On several moments during the weekend, there will be space for integration, through meditation and sharing your experiences with others.
As a life coach and masseur, Tijs Breuer specializes in in-depth bodywork. He works a lot with mindfulness, body awareness and the power of loving attention. Tijs gives weekly workshops in which playful discovery and connection with yourself and the group are central.
Christian Wicke works as a general practitioner and yoga teacher, in ashtanga and vinyasa yoga. He enjoys sharing his insights about and from yoga with others, in group classes and 1-on-1 settings. Besides teaching the practical aspects of yoga, he also likes to study and debate about yoga philosophy and its implications for our daily life.
Heart Center Amsterdam is a new venue in the quiet neighborhood of Gein (Gaasperdam, Amsterdam). There is a nice atmospheric group room and two practice rooms.
Just a few minutes' walk from Heart Center Amsterdam is the Gaasperplas and the Gaasperpark. This is a large recreational area where you can run, cycle, walk (with or without a dog) and work out. The deep lake has very clean water, so you can swim well. There are several beaches, including a nudist beach.
We will provide lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. The workshop only takes place during the day, on Saturday and Sunday.

Everybody is welcome. So this workshop is open for all genders (including non-binary or transgender) and all sexual orientations. Yoga or massage skills are welcome, but not necessary. We have a notaflof-policy so if you would like to participate but are short of funds, please contact us directly.
