Making the transition to Product Owners that ship value.
As increasing numbers of large organisations make the 'great leap' towards agile and changing their ways of working - many adopt Scrum or a Scrum variant. Within Scrum, there are three roles: Scrum Master, Product Owner and Team Member. Two of these roles are new to most organisations with no logical transition point.
Tonight, we will be delving into the role of a Product Owner.
Commonly misunderstood, usually poorly done - but critical to the success of any Scrum type team and therefore critical to the success of any transformation.
Tonight we will tackle some key questions through the lens of people who have made that transition.
Our panelists tonight are:
Shady Lim - currently an Innovation Advisor for AWS, Shady comes from a Marketing background and stepped into Digital Product Ownership before moving on to Head up Digital Accelerators at Telstra.
Shelvia Loveridge - currently a TE Data & Analytics - Chapter Lead for Telstra, with a background Application management, deployment and Scrum Mastering.
Sarah Howard - currently a Digital Product Manager for for Origin Energy focussing on Mobile App and Messaging. She comes from a background in Digital Media in Advertising.
Key focussing questions
- what on earth is a Product Owner?
- How did your transition into the role work? What did you do to become a PO?
- What are the new skills and behaviours that you had to adopt?
- What is the difference between OK POs and great ones?
This meet up topic is based on a suggestion from one you - one of our Members. What else would you like to hear about?
