GitHub Copilot Dev Days x Betsson
Join us on **May 6th from 17:45** for an evening of hands-on learning, insightful talks, and networking with fellow developers and AI enthusiasts. This time, we’re focusing on how AI is transforming both individual coding workflows and large-scale engineering organizations:
📌 **Topic 1: “AI-Assisted Coding with GitHub Copilot”**
Speaker: Liam Hampton, Senior Cloud Advocate, Microsoft & GitHub
Join a community-led session exploring how developers can effectively use GitHub Copilot in their day-to-day work.
This session will cover practical workflows, real-world use cases, and hands-on approaches to integrating AI into your development process.
Whether you’re just getting started or already using Copilot, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of how to apply AI-assisted coding techniques to improve efficiency and code quality.
All skill levels are welcome, just bring your laptop and curiosity.
**📌 Topic 2: “How Betsson Scales AI** **at Org Level – Not Just per Developer”**
Speaker: Kevin Nascimento, Data & AI Adoption Lead, Betsson Group
In this session, Kevin shares how Betsson runs AI at real organizational scale. You’ll see how custom instructions move beyond per-repo files into a governed, tiered knowledge base used by 1,000+ developers, with department-specific overlays on top.
He’ll walk through Agent Mode with mandatory human gates at every step, deep context engineering with live diagrams of what loads (and what doesn’t), and Plan Mode where planning is formalised and compliance-checked before any code is written.
You’ll also see multi-agent compliance workflows in action, plus how teams build custom agents and prompts under centralized governance but with full local flexibility.
A practical, inside look at building safe, scalable, enterprise-grade AI workflows.
**🎯 Whether you’re a developer, engineer, or simply curious about AI in software development, this event offers valuable insights, practical takeaways, and the chance to connect with like-minded professionals.**
**Seats fill up quickly, so secure your spot and join us for an evening of learning, networking, and real-world AI applications.**

admin night & closing loops
**Admin Night ☻** (**May 6th**\, Wednesday 18:30 \| **Location:** Művház Kávézó)
**Welcome to the unplugged club Budapest ✨**
*This is a community for slowing down, disconnecting from our phones and reconnecting with ourselves and others.*
Usually, we gather to put our devices away, but this time the **unplugged club will be "plugged"** — so we can connect and support each other in person while tackling our to-do lists!
**What is an Admin Night?** It’s a space to finally get around to those things you’ve been procrastinating on. We often carry around **"open loops"** — those unfinished tasks, unread articles, or half-planned projects that sit in the back of our minds, draining our mental energy.
Whether it’s clearing your inbox, updating your resume, or finally planning that trip, let's close some loops together in a focused, cozy atmosphere.
**〜 Read more about:**

[what is "closing loops"](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/open-loops-mental-exhaustion_l_6965121fe4b0ac0d12a380db)
"***The Zeigarnik effect*** is a psychological phenomenon where the human brain remembers interrupted or unfinished tasks better than completed ones. (...) it suggests that unfinished tasks create cognitive tension, keeping them active in memory."
**〜 What to expect**
◦ Bring your laptop, iPad, phone, or notebook — whatever you need to get your "admin" done.
◦ A dedicated block of time for focused productivity alongside others.
◦ A supportive environment to turn chores into a social, shared experience.
◦ Space to chat, share progress, and have a drink while we work.
**〜 Location**
Művház Kávézó
Budapest, Bartók Béla út 33, 1114
**〜 Schedule**
18:30 – Welcome, grab a drink, and share one thing you want to "cross off" tonight
19:00 – 20:30 – Focused admin time & co-working
20:30 – 21:00 – Closing reflections and informal socializing - optional
**〜 Notes**
✧ The event is free, but please support the venue by purchasing a beverage or food.
✧ While devices are allowed for this specific session, we still encourage mindful usage (no scrolling!) and staying present with the group and your tasks.
✧ RSVP on Meetup to ensure we have enough table space for everyone.

EAA: hatás vagy látszat?
The language of this workshop is Hungarian.
* **Daniss-Bodó Eszter -** neuroinkluzív tervező (Blue)
* **Nagy Árpád -** lead ux designer, akadálymentességi szakértő (OTP)
* **Klein Péter -** design strategist & leadership advisor (Blue)
* **Szántai Károly -** tanúsított web akadálymentességi szakértő, szakoktató
**A helyszín akadálymentessége:**
A helyszín akadálymentes.
Folyamatosan szeretnénk javítani eseményeinket a te hozzájárulásoddal is.

Men's Circle Of Excellence Gathering XI
The Men’s Circle of Excellence Gathering, for men who seek truth, mastery, and a life beyond mediocrity.
The goal is simple: to support each other in mastering mind and spirit, breaking free from comfort, and moving toward excellence in every area of life.
Modern life offers endless distractions but little real connection. Too often, men walk the path of self-development alone, or struggle against the negative pull of today’s society. The Men’s Circle of Excellence was created to change that: to bring support, accountability, challenge, and community energy.
We gather in person to share openly, confront fears, and inspire one another to reach higher. Here, power is rooted in virtue, strength is balanced with empathy, and ambition is guided by wisdom.
How it works:
• Welcome & introductions: Meet new members and reconnect with familiar faces.
• Open sharing: Each man speaks about his current challenges, fears, or obstacles.
• Honest reflections: The group responds with insight and encouragement.
• Connection Time: After the circle, we'll have extra time to relax, talk, and build friendships.
Recommendation:
• Before the event, take some time to think about your current situation and what to bring into the circle.
Limited to max. 8 men per gathering to keep the space focused, personal, and meaningful. Confirm your attendance to reserve your spot.

Join us to swap stories, practice new languages, and build genuine friendships across cultures.
Meditation (English)
Practice Buddhist meditation in the middle of Budapest!
The meditation is suitable for beginners. Each regular meditation is guided and begins with a short introduction. (all together is about 30-40 minutes)
Our regular Buddhist meditations have proven popular with people who want to integrate authentic Buddhist methods into their daily lives. For the modern lay person who is juggling work, relationships, and an active role in society, we teach a meditation that is easy to learn, and profound and powerful for experienced practitioners.
The meditation originates from the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. It has a cumulative effect on mind, leading to greater clarity and calmness. Fearlessness, joy, and active compassion are the result of regular practice of Buddhist meditation.
* Do I need any special clothing?
No special clothing needed.
* Does the attendance cost anything?
No, the meditation is free.
Session #27 - Effective Altruism — Can we do Good, Better?
*“We should use evidence and reason to do the most good.*”
**William MacAskill - EA.**
What if doing good wasn’t about intention… but about *optimization*?
**(Event in english!)**
In this session, we explore the philosophy of Effective Altruism (EA), a modern movement led by thinkers like William MacAskill, which argues that we should use reason, data, and careful prioritization to do the maximum amount of good possible.
This raises some uncomfortable questions:
Can morality be reduced to numbers and outcomes?Have we been donating to under-effective causes?
Are we obliged to make more money so that we can donate more?
We’ll examine key ideas behind EA:
• Maximizing impact over good intentions
• Choosing causes based on effectiveness
• The ethics of “earning to give”
• The growing focus on long-term future risks
And we’ll challenge them through discussion.
**Introduction of guests (15 minutes)**
We start with a short introduction of the guests with the question:
* Which do think is an effective charity to donate?
**Questions (1 hour and 45 minutes)**
1. Utilitarianism. What it is, and why is it having a strong comeback.
2. Non-consequentialism vs consequentialism – which serves humanity better?
3. Is this EA a more rational moral system… or an inhuman one?
4. Would you rather save your friend, or 5 strangers far away?
5. Does it ignore emotions, relationships, and personal meaning?
6. Does the life of 3 different given people have the same worth?
7. Is saving more human lives the best measure of doing good? Even if the future would be more livable with less people (due to resource scarcity or other reasons)?
8. Who gets to decide what “doing the most good” or “more effective” really means?
9. Should plutocrats have all the authority about shaping the future? Or would there be better alternatives?
10. Longtermism: should positively influencing the long-term future be a key moral priority at all times?
11. EA and longtermism: are they securing a better and more fair future, or creating a way to a new dystopia?
12. How important is the association of a movement with a scandal?
***

**RSVP:** Please confirm your attendance here on Meetup to save your space and if you cannot assist, yield your space to another person in the waiting list.
We welcome donations from 1.000 HUF (min 400 HUF) to keep the costs of the meetup.

Kis LLM-tan - nyelvi modellek működése es alkalmazása
💜 Csak nőknek szóló PyLadies esemény! 💜
Sziasztok PyLadiek!
• 18:00 – 19:00 Előadás I.
• 19:00 – 19:40 Szünet, Networking
• 19:40 – 20:35 Előadás II.
• 20:35 – 21:00 Záró gondolatok, elköszönés
(A programterv változásának jogát fenntartjuk.)

18:50 - Tick-Tock: Lessons from a Near-Miss PCA Expiration
19:25 - Networking, **Pizza, Drinks**
**Large-Scale GenAI Document Creation on AWS**
This session showcases a real-world GenAI solution built on AWS, where Amazon Bedrock and other AWS managed services power a multi-agent workflow for document ingestion, retrieval, and large-scale automated document generation. One of the key outcomes was the ability to generate multiple hundreds of pages in one go, while maintaining structure, context, and quality across complex documents. We will explore the architectural decisions made, how we would improve it today. Along the way, we highlight key trade-offs, common anti-patterns, and emerging best practices for building scalable, future-proof GenAI solutions.
**Tick-Tock: Lessons from a Near-Miss PCA Expiration**
PKI is the silent engine of enterprise trust, but its complexity often stays hidden until something goes wrong. This session provides a practical overview of enterprise-scale PKI architecture before deconstructing a real-world crisis: an almost expired intermediate signing PCA. We’ll explore the cascading technical fallout across the infrastructure and share battle-tested strategies for maintaining crypto-agility. Join us to learn how to manage these critical lifecycles before the "silent" failures start.
**SPEAKERS**
**Patrick Nanys**
Patrick is an ML Engineer focused on taking AI systems from idea to production. His background spans large-scale NLP infrastructure, LLM applications, agentic workflows, and custom ML systems, both in high-throughput enterprise environments and in client-facing AI projects.

In-Person Event: The Answers to Depression & Anxiety
This is an in-person meeting. At this meeting you will get answers to depression and anxiety. Find out the source of them and how to get rid of them.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like anxiety, depression, unhappiness, loneliness, hopelessness, anger, fear, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not due to a chemical imbalance in your brain from some nebulous chemical reaction "by chance".
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.

CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
Practical AI for Power BI Developers
A year ago, “agentic AI” was mostly hype for Power BI teams. Today, it deserves your undivided attention. For Power BI pros, there is now a real opportunity to reduce repetitive development work, accelerate delivery, and help developers do more, but only when strong DataOps practices are in place to make AI workflows effective.
This session is a no-nonsense introduction to effective AI patterns for Power BI and Fabric development. Along the way, we will make sense of the growing pile of terminology, including skills, plugins, hooks, and MCP. You will see examples of how modern AI tooling can help with development tasks across Power BI and Fabric, along with the prerequisites, guardrails, and DataOps principles needed to use it responsibly.
Whether you're burned out on AI hype or already using Copilot CLI daily, this session will show you the foundations that are finally making AI-assisted development genuinely useful.
LLM Showdown: ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini vs Local Models
Join us for a practical, beginner-friendly guide to choosing the right large language model. We’ll compare major models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Llama, talk about when to use hosted APIs versus local models, and break down the tradeoffs around cost, speed, quality, privacy, context windows, coding ability, and reliability.
You’ll leave with a clearer mental model for picking an LLM based on your actual use case instead of hype, benchmarks, or brand names. No deep AI background required.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
