La voix humaine (The Human Voice).

including Ingrid Bergman) takes audiences to a place where they are eavesdroppers and voyeurs.
“Racette raises the emotional ante is every portrayal” ….as Elle, “she is mesmerizing from from first to last, drawing us into her character’s increasing distress…as her life unravels around her.” – Chicago Tribune

Elle, the tragic heroine, is having one final phone call with her callous and longtime lover, who is
abandoning her for another. Her voice is all we hear of their conversation—and from feigned
indifference to panic and despair, her every emotion is searingly conveyed.
Expect a tour-de-force performance from Patricia Racette, one of the world’s greatest singing actresses.
