Hike the Bauer Unit of Guadalupe River State Park

HIKING: Join us on a 6 mile hike exploring the scenic Hill Country in the Bauer Unit of Guadalupe River State Park. This will be an easy to moderate hike on mostly level terrain with some rocky areas. We will hike past the old Bauer House and down to the river where we can stop for lunch. Wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes and bring water. The short trail down to the river is steep, so bring trekking poles if needed.

**There are no restrooms or porta potties.There are two gas stations at the corner of Highway 46 and FM 3351 where you can use the restroom before the last 15 minutes of the drive. **

We'll meet in the parking area of the Bauer Unit, just off Acker Road. Use the gate code posted on the gate code box to enter the park. GPS can be unreliable for directions to the park, so please follow the directions below.
$7.00 park fee or $4.00 with a senior pass (pay at the Bauer Unit, exact cash only) or free with State Park Pass. We encourage you to reserve and pay online through the park’s reservation system. Print your ticket to place on the dashboard.
