LLM as a commodity, decoupling AI your infrastructure from vendor lock-in
·OnlineOnlineThis presentation explores how organizations can treat large language models as interchangeable commodities rather than embed a single vendor’s model, APIs, and capabilities deeply into their products. It introduces the AI Harness: an abstraction layer that centralizes model access, routing, prompt and tool contracts, evaluation, observability, security, and fallback behavior. By decoupling application logic from individual LLM providers, teams can adopt new models quickly, optimize for cost, latency, privacy, and quality per workload, and reduce operational and strategic exposure to vendor lock-in.
About the Speaker
Chris Anthony is a senior engineering leader with 25+ years building internal platforms, cloud infrastructure, and high-performing teams — and who still ships code and infrastructure-as-code. Proven record standing up platform/DevOps organizations from the ground up and delivering the infrastructure, tooling, observability, and controls that let engineers build, ship, and operate securely at a high bar for reliability, availability, and velocity. Currently leading the organization's LLM and agentic-AI strategy — building an internal platform for AI-powered tooling and agentic workflows, with the guardrails, adoption enablement, and observability to unlock velocity safely. An eager adopter of frontier models and agentic tooling (Claude Code, MCP, agent guardrails) who manages across and up the organization, mentors managers and senior engineers, and champions a long-term strategic roadmap while leading from the front.Agenda (in PST)
