Join us for our 1st Engineering Privacy meetup in the SF Bay Area! At each meetup, we plan to have 2 dynamic speakers from Bay Area tech companies who have much to share.

We're particularly excited to build a local privacy engineering community. So, please do bring your ideas and questions. Don't worry, we carved out time for networking and plan to do so at each meetup. Nearly every security professional faces tradeoffs in balancing privacy and security. Threat detection efforts rely heavily on data and powerful open source search tools like Elastic-search have come into the picture. From a purely security perspective, the question of how much data do we collect for analysis and alerting is almost always let’s collect everything. Security teams would much rather have more logs than less. But, how much is too much? For example, in some industries it's normal to implement SSL-decrypt in order to analyze malicious traffic. But where do we draw the line as engineers and how do we hold ourselves accountable?
