For our third meet-up, the (dystopian?) Book Club Vienna is heading into the slightly hazy world of 1970s California with A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick.
Published in 1977, the novel follows an undercover narcotics agent whose assignment becomes increasingly complicated when he is tasked with spying on a group of drug users, including someone who may be himself.
Part science fiction, part crime story, and part exploration of identity and surveillance, What an interesting mix!
