English Country Dancing--A Celebration of Jane Austen's 250th Birthday!

We're dancing every Sunday for the month of December! This Sunday, we are celebrating the 250th birthday of Jane Austen with a special dance. We invite you to come in Regency costume.
English Country Dance is an easily accessible and fun form of dancing - you might have seen some versions of it in films like Pride and Prejudice.
- The dancing begins at 6 p.m.
- We're dancing every Sunday in December at the Rancho Bernardo Swim & Tennis Club.
- Entry is $10 for regular nights, $15 for live music nights; paid at the door with cash, check or Venmo.
- Beginners welcome!
- Come alone or with a partner. You'll mix around.
- If you are new, plan to arrive by 5:45 and we will give you some simple instruction to make your first dances even easier.
- Dress comfortably, wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes for dancing and enjoy the evening!
Each dance is taught by the caller prior to the start, and then the figures continue to be prompted during the dance as necessary. Dancing is done to recorded music, though we occasionally have live music as a special treat. There is a short break about halfway through the evening when we enjoy yummy snacks.
