Many people here have gotten honest and recognized that filling their calendars with networking events, luncheons, mixers, or seminars wasn't getting them where they wanted to go, and they have felt completely drained and frustrated by the results of their networking business.
Who else recognizes this is also not sustainable, not in the grand scheme of being able to enjoy your family?!
Right?!
This is when we said, "No more! I'm not doing that anymore."
I used to dedicate so much of myself to networking and building my business after I got out of the corporate world (but that's another story for another time). I never knew any difference and just like so many other people I was sold on it being the way.
I can't tell you how many dinners I missed with my kids and late Saturday mornings with my family all for the pursuit of making the connections and the sales that would lead me to my dreams because I chose to network over being with them.
Wanting to provide a more comfortable life and time together cost me my time with them. What a catch 22! And I'm wiser now not to fall for the lie that this is just what you mu do. That is just b.s. and keeps you stuck in the survival loop rather than having what you deserve and what IS possible.
