We will develop our philosophical thinking. Inspired by the Peripatetic School in Athens founded by Aristo where clases were taught walking outdoors, we will learn, debate, enjoy and investigate both philosophers and diverse themes from the philosophical perspective while walking through the beautiful parks and streets of Lisboa. I started this group to meet other philosophy enthusiasts. Looking forward to walk through philosophy together with everybody.

Let´s be greek and dive today on…
a Philosophical question called forgiveness...
It’s unusual to think of forgiveness as a topic of philosophical relevance. How does a seemingly personal decision between people becomes a philosophical universal question ?
Building from the work of Margaret Holmgren and Trudy Govier, American and Canadian contemporary philosophers, we will examine the philosophical dimensions of forgiveness.
What does it truly mean to forgive? Are there actions that go beyond the realm of the forgivable?
Are there people who are beyond that realm? Who gets to decide?Should we forgive ? Always ? In any case ?
And how our systems, such as the criminal justice system, grapple with these inquiries every single day?
Margaret Holmgren (1951 ) is an American professor specializing in ethics and the philosophy of law. She is best known for her groundbreaking virtue-ethics approach to restorative justice, which challenges traditional punitive models in favor of unconditional forgiveness.
Trudy Govier (1944) is a Canadian philosopher known for her work in informal logic and argumentation. Much of Govier's work has surrounded the practical argument, focusing on issues of trust, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
Let´s think about forgiveness...
