We will learn, debate, enjoy and investigate philosophers and diverse themes from the philosophical perspective. Each reunion is structured as a conversation among all attendees about that day s philosopher softly moderated by the organizer. The conversation will kick-off from the very brief suggested reading providing easy access to all attendees both to the philosopher and the conversation.

GIOVANNI GENTILE and BENITO MUSSOLINI, the main names behind a polítical movement called Fascism that ended killing almost every dissident in their way… but that is not how it all begun.
It is therefore specially important to review what were they standing for before doing what they did... becoming what they became...
Born in the early 20´s as a brand of Italian nationalism after WWI left Italy less rewarded than expected, Mussolini promises Italians a 3rd round of glory after the Roman empire and the Renaissance, based on a powerful state that would incarnate the nation´s Spirit, a very Hegelian vision transmitted by the official Fascist philosopher Giovanni Gentile. The existing Italian liberal democracy with all its voting and fragmentation seemed largely inappropriate for the glorious destiny to Make Italy Great Again, and though Mussolini arrives to power by seudo-legal means, he consolidates himself as a dictator as soon as he can for more than 20 years. A german imitator called Adolf Hitler will try to Make Germany Great Again with similar strategies to seize power and many shared core elements, copying even the openly Theatrical acting of Mussolini during his speeches. The Nazis will emphasize Racial Supremacy (much less prevalent in Italian fascism) and include Nietzsche´s critic of Judeo-Christian morality to an already explosive philosophical mix,
bringing the ruthlessness of the regime to the unknown dimension of Industrialized mass murder in a way the world had never seen before.
