AMIA SRINIVASAN, a contemporary philosopher that is earning the right to be considered one of the most relevant thinkers of our time. Amia dives into many subjects from a highly interdisciplinary perspective but her exploration of the relation between feminism and capitalism is our focus today. The (de) construction of feminine desire is, she defends, highly conditioned by capitalist standards that "shape" what, how or when to desire... Therefore, the criticism of Capitalism is part of a Feminist agenda. DESIRE IS POLITICAL. This highly audacious assertion is becoming one of the trademarks of her thinking and can be connected with feminist founding authors as Simone de Beauvoir.
