To Disclose or Not to Disclose

This month we are discussing the topic of disclosure. For people with disabilities, it can be a big hurdle to decide should you disclose your disability or not.

Here are just a few of the questions that goes through the mind of a person with a disability when it comes to being interviewed or launching your own business:

• Will I get the job if I disclose my disability?
• Will I be able to clients if they are aware of my disability?
• How do I mitigate the perception of how my disability will affect my work productivity?

This will be a round table open discussion where attendees can contribute to the level that they are comfortable in doing so. Attendees are welcome to attend, but not converse, just to listen in. We respect that for many reasons people do not want to voice their opinion.
