Creative Minds Needed For this Earth Fair at Balboa Park

Zero Waste San Diego will be hosting a volunteer leader meeting on Sunday, February 22nd from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at the Point Loma Branch Library.

3701 Voltaire St

San Diego, CA 92107

At this meeting, we will brainstorm ways to achieve zero waste and at the same time create a teachable moment for the attendees.

This will be the first year in Earth Fair history to include organics throughout the park. To include this option several things will need to happen.

  1. Trained volunteers will need to place at each "Zero Waste Zone"
  2. Provide information regarding resource management for the attendees to take with them

Here are some ideas for the event (but these are not set in stone)

  • Tables placed at each zone regarding a specific subject of resource management
    • This is a perfect opportunity of a business or organization to sponsor. Include your agenda, but the main subject will be about resource management (or zero waste)
  • Petitions
  • Games at the tables to keep the interest and create a teachable moment
  • Creative ways to cover the cement bins that are placed throughout the site
  • Giveaways

Creative minds are needed. The more the merrier. We need all the help we can get.

This is a perfect example of how several individuals and organizations can work together to achieve a goal.

"We must remember that one determined person can make a significant difference, and that a small group of determined people can change the course of history." Sonia Johnson"

Please RSVP for this meeting you can either reply to this email or RSVP via Facebook
By attending this meeting does not mean you are committed to volunteer at the event, but that would be great if you could.

We look forward to working with each and every one of you.
