Fococo Events - Grand Lake Area Hiking/Hot Springs/Kayak/Paddleboard Weekend!Winter Park, Winter Park, CO
Hey guys!
I hope everyone is enjoying their spring and is getting ready for some fun adventures in the high country this year! We headed up to the Grand Lake/Granby area a number of times last year and found some pretty amazing hiking, enjoyed the freshwater lakes there kayaking and paddle boarding and relaxed in the nearby hot springs in Hot Sulpher Springs.
I plan on hosting these trips again this year and plan on leading hiking trips up some of the most scenic trails in RMNP and the surrounding area.
The Place
We will be staying in a 3bdrm/3bath Condo in Winter Park which is near some incredible hiking and adjacent to the hot springs.
Hike
We'll plan on hiking in RMNP by visiting Lulu City via the Colorado River Trail on Saturday. We had an amazing memorable experience last year on this trail and am looking forward to seeing late spring in this area. Please bring your camera as i expect we will see an abundance of wildlife along the beginnings of wildflowers in the area.

Hot Springs
There are hot springs located in the neighboring town of Hot Sulpher Springs. The resort has close to 20 pools ranging in different temperatures. A great way to end the day after a hike!

Finally on Sunday we'll head over to Grand Lake to rent kayaks or paddleboards from the great people at Mountain Paddlers and Rocky Mountain SUP. We’ve done this two times already and it’s a nice way to wrap up a fun weekend in the mountains!

*Please note RSVPing for the trip does not confirm you on the trip paying for your portion DOES. : ) - Wildflower hike to Cascade Falls in RMNP followed by lunch in Grand Lake!North Inlet Trailhead, Grand Lake, CO
Hey guys!
Last year we explored so many great areas on the Western portion of RMNP! It's time to check out another which should provide some great views of mountain meadows covered in wildflowers with the chance to see one of the parks largest inhabitants..the moose.
We'll plan to start at the North Inlet Trailhead outside of Grand Lake where we'll ascend 633 feet to a cascading waterfall aptly named Cascade Falls. Please expect to go at a moderate pace along the 6.8 mile round trip hike along the North Inlet Creek on our way to Cascade Falls.
Please bring your camera as i expect we should start to see an abundance of wildflowers and may even get lucky and see a moose here and there. A recent explorer up that way saw as many as 11!
After the hike we will head into Grand Lake to find some lunch.
Hope to see you on the trail!

Cascade Falls, Colorado - 1,590 Reviews, Map | AllTrails - Backpacking dry run at Lory State ParkLory State Park, Bellvue, CO$4.00
Interested in backpacking? Join us for a fun one-nighter just outside of Fort Collins. It’s literally a dry run as there is no water on the trail so bring it along for the ride. Also this is an opportunity to test gear and readiness – as well as gauge interest in backpacking among Edge hikers for a bigger trip later in the summer. Garrison and I have reserved two campsites but space is limited.
On Saturday evening we will start at Homestead picnic area in Lory. Meet at 5pm to depart shortly after. We will climb the Overlook and Fireline trails 2.5 miles to Arthur’s Rock summit, then camp near the summit at backcountry sites 4 and 5. On Saturday morning we will take the Timber and Well Gulch trails 3 miles back down to Homestead.
Everyone must bring everything they need for the trip, including hiking, camping, and cooking gear, as well as food and water. Here is a standard supply list that you can adjust for this event: BackpackingChecklist.pdf. Don’t worry about getting everything perfect – it’s a dry run after all – and sure to be a goofy good time! No s’mores however as campfires are not allowed. Stoves only.
Lory State Park entrance fee is $10 per vehicle unless you have state parks entry covered on your registration. Please bring $4 to help cover the campsite fee (cash or venmo). Homestead picnic area has a small parking row that is lightly used. In the unlikely event it is full when you arrive, you can park at the larger nearby Eltuck picnic area lot 1/4 mile north of Homestead. As usual, carpooling to the trailhead is recommended. 😎
