Colorado Trail Hiking & Hot Springs Getaway outside of Fairplay!

Hey guys!
I hope everyone is having a nice start to their spring/summer adventure season! We hiked the later portion of the Segment 6 of the Colorado Trail this past year and now i would like to try and tackle the earlier portion of the segment which is supposed to be amazing! We'll plan to hike from Kenosha Pass up to Georgia Pass which will be a total of 11.6 miles and 2,835 feet in elevation gain. We will plan to do a shuttle hike so we will plan to park a set of cars at each Kenosha and Georgia Pass. This portion of segment 6 should provide a 360 view of the Gore and Mosquito Ranges and all of their high peaks in the vicinity of Fairplay! If you're interested in hiking a segment this is the event for you!

The Colorado Trail is a long-distance trail running for 486 miles from the mouth of Waterton Canyon southwest of Denver to Durango. Its highest point is 13,271 feet above sea level, and most of the trail is above 10,000 feet. Despite its high elevation, the trail often dips below the alpine timberline to provide refuge from the exposed, storm-prone regions above. The Colorado Trail was built and is currently maintained by the non-profit Colorado Trail Foundation and the United States Forest Service and was connected in 1987.

Lodging: I have identified a 4 bedroom 2 bath place outside of Fairplay which is central to the hike and a short 45 minute drive down to the Arkansas River Valley where we can check out the hot springs.

Hot Springs: Cottonwood Hot Springs & Spa along with Mt. Princeton Hot springs Resort are both great when it comes to getting R&R after a day on the trail!
