This is a alpine scramble or snowshoe over steep slopes - destination decided Thurs after checking weather and may depend on who signs up by Thurs.
Distance- 10(~upto 10miles round trip) and 3200ft (~3000ft elevation gain).
Time constraints: keep full day free
Meetup will appear full, but that's because we use a waiting list to do standard checks and set expectations - pls add yourself to waiting list.
If u do not have the equipment listed below, you will have to go back home from P&R. No exceptions.
Equipment and Skills -
- Ice axe, crampons, microspikes, Snowshoes (similar to MSR ascents with 360 traction and heel lift), Gaiters, Sunglasses, Sunscreen
- Speed - Slow uphill, medium downhill. Even if u are fast, be ready for the group to go up slow. We do not allow splitting the group.
- Emergency ready - Always Be equipped for delays of (atleast 24hrs in wilderness) due to someone getting hurt. It takes a minimum of 8hrs in good weather for emergency personnel to arrive, and typically takes 24hrs. Carry personal emergency Bivi, extra layers, replacement clothing, food supply .
If u are carpooling with someone, pls pay the driver around $40 per person.
