Each month Noah Gitlis teaches a different Jazz Standard with emphasis on melody, harmony, accompaniment, and rhythm. The goal of the class is to help students boost their jazz repertoire, and build the skills required to feel confident in a jazz jam session. These classes are a lot of fun and a great way to get out and play with other people while learning some really fun music. All instruments and skill levels are welcome but students should have basic proficiency on their instrument to get the most out of the class. Keith + Tina Return!! for a four part Irish Session Class! Saturdays 1:30-2:30pm 4/18, 5/2, 5/16, + 5/30 limited to 15 participants! Across the globe, the beating heart and home of traditional Irish music is the session. Whether it takes place in a pub or around a kitchen table, the session is where musicians share tunes, learn from one another, and enjoy good company. Hello Rockers! Let's get together and jam out some top hits since the new millennium (since 1/1/2000) at Crescendo Studios in Falls Church, VA. This will be a new venue for our jams and will probably be more accommodating to access for many of our DC Rockers members. The studio is located near the Mosaic District in Merrifield on the eastbound side of Lee Highway (US-29). We'll be in Studio A on the first floor of the studio which is mostly-equipped with a drum kit, keyboard, sound system, amps and mics. Attendees will be expected to bring their own instruments but should not need to bring amps or speakers.
