Saturday Hike: Up to Monte Bre (10km, 750m up, 3:30h, T2)

This Saturday, I plan to come with a group from the Zurich region to Ticino to enjoy perfect views of Lake Lugano and the hills and mountains around the city, and let the time pass by on our extended after-hike picnic on top of Monte Bre, Switzerland’s sunniest mountain.
Join us at Lugano train station and walk with us along the lake through the city before continuing to the picturesque Gandria village. From there, we hike uphill to the top of Mote Pre. We have a more prolonged picnic in the sun with perfect views before taking the cable car down to Lugano and continuing to the train station.

The hike is 10km long and takes around 3:30h (hiking time only), with 750m up hilla and (should be) T1 and T2 only. You need to be somehow fit for the 750m up, but I am happy if I am not the slowest of the group :)
SCHEDULE:
9:28 Lugno Train Station (wait for the EC to Milano coming from Zurich)
Start of hike with breaks in between
13:30/14:00 Arrive at Monte Bre
After-hike Picnic
Expect to be at Lugano train station around 17:00

WHAT TO BRING:

• Hiking shoes or boots
• Enough to eat and drink (no restaurant stop)
• Snacks and wine to share for the after-hike picnic

(ii) Note that I am not a tour guide and have not hiked this route before. We are an informal group of individuals. Everyone is responsible for their actions, choices, judgments, and adequate equipment. Please verify whether the tour is adequate for you, that you have the needed equipment, and that your insurance covers you for any event/issue. When signing up, you agree that the organizer shall not be responsible for any injuries or accidents that might happen during the event or as a consequence.
