Christmas Hike: Lugano Paradiso to Morcote (4:30h, 13km, 850m up and down)

Looking to stay active and soak up the mild, sunny Ticino weather this Christmas? Join me for this beautiful, classic hike from Lugano Paradiso to Morcote via San Salvatore and San Prato, with breathtaking views of the Lago di Lugano and the surrounding hills and forests.

If the weather is good, we will make an extended break for a Christmas apero in nature before heading downhill to the picturesque lakeside village of Morcote, from where we end our hike with a scenic boat ride on Lago di Lugano for our return to Lugano.

The hike is mostly rated T2. While the first hour includes a steep uphill section, the remainder is a gentle and enjoyable walk. Let’s make this Christmas memorable with fresh air, beautiful nature, and great company!
SCHEDULE:
The hike is published mainly in hiking groups from Zurich. We will arrive bytrain at 9:39 in Lugano Paradiso. We plan to take the 15:43 boat to Lugano departing from Morcote lago.

• Enough to eat and drink on the way
• Something to share (e.g., a snack, wine, sweets) for our longer break in the end
