Details

I’m so excited to present ‘Faust’ (1926) this week! F.W. Murnau is one of my favorite directors, and his ‘Faust’ is amazing.

One of the coolest things about ‘Faust’ is the number of special effects, all done in the camera and with miniatures. Faust and the Devil fly over towns and rivers and mountains, all an incredible miniature set.

German expressionism at its best!

We meet to set up and go for snacks at 7. At 7:30 we watch a short film or cartoon. The main film starts at 8:00. It’s fine if you come later, but you may miss a few minutes of the movie.

We are starting Essential Cinema again! We have an incredible space, brand new equipment, and all the classic films in the world!

Essential Cinema is the place to watch all the films you have heard about but have never seen. ‘Casablanca.’ ‘King Kong.’ Films by Hitchcock and Buñuel. We watch best-quality movies in the original language, with subtitles. Afterward we talk about the director, the music, and where the movie fits into World Cinema. Our goal is to introduce friends to different actors, directors, and genres of film. We open up new cinematic worlds to explore!

And of course there is popcorn and pizza!

Our WhatsApp is 33-1910-2227. There is more information there. Write me (Daniel) and we will add you to the group.
