Before co-founding Parity Technologies, Dr Wood was the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of the Ethereum Project. He is the co-designer of the Ethereum Protocol, writing its formal specification, created and wrote the first functional Ethereum implementation, designed and stewarded the Solidity language, was the project chief of the IDE, and designed and implemented the Whisper protocol. He has pushed the state-of-the-art in analysis tools and programming languages, as well as co-founded several technology startups.
Dr Wood has presented to numerous audiences around the world from keynotes at regional technology conferences to musings on the future of legal systems at Harvard. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of York.

"Charity DAOs"
During this talk, Christoph Jentzsch will explore the possibility to run an organization without managers, employees or even a formal head office. Christoph will cover Decentralized Autonomous Organizations ('DAOs') and in particular their applications in the Charity sector.
After studying theoretical physics in Dresden, Germany, Christoph worked at Ethereum on both the protocol and as Lead Tester. He authored a framework for DAOs, which run entirely on the blockchain. One of its instances went on to become the most successful crowdfunding project in history but failed due to a software bug. This eventually led to a protocol hard fork which Christoph also helped specify. Today, Christoph is the CEO of Slock.it, which recently partnered with innogy Innovation Labs to build Share&Charge, onboarding over 1,000 charging station onto the blockchain.
