Peter Stone Discusses Bertrand Russell
Details
What is ethics? How do we know right from wrong? What does it even mean to say that some action is "right" or "wrong"? Bertrand Russell, one of the greatest philosophers and humanists of the twentieth century, grappled with questions like these all his life. Peter Stone, a longtime member of the Bertrand Russell Society, will discuss Russell's views on the nature of ethics. Join us for this interesting and important presentation.
Peter Stone is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Stanford University. He has been a member of the Bertrand Russell Society (BRS) for twenty years, and was a founding member of the Bay Area Russell Set (BARS), a local chapter of the BRS. Also - this will be the final collection of animals for the Sunday Friends "150 Animals for 150 Kids drive".
Animals will be sorted and delivered to Sunday Friends on Sunday, November 22 at 1 pm at Lowell School, San Jose.
Animals aren’t necessarily stuffed! In fact, Sunday Friends would prefer they be animals that are not stuffed but rather gifts and toys related to animals, like animal puzzles, animal games, and animal science projects.
Bring your animal related gifts to the meeting.
