Ethereum Malaysia (ETHKL)

Hello once again, ETHKL peeps! Feel free to join yet another ad-hoc meetup with our guest, Eddie from Klaytn Foundation. He will share their journey, transitioning from a Web2 company, Kakao, to the pathway of decentralization, developing the global Layer 1 public blockchain named Klaytn.

Klaytn is a layer-1 blockchain started as a product of Kakao corp, one of the biggest web2 companies in Korea. At the beginning of Klaytn, it was governed by Ground X, the subsidiary of the company. After 4 years of efforts, Klaytn made huge progress in its decentralization and now governed by its Governance Council composed of the validators of Klaytn.

This year, many Malaysians have come together to the vibrant city of Istanbul for the Devconnect event, a week-long gathering of independent Ethereum events to learn, share, and make progress together.

What adds a compelling dimension to this year's Devconnect is the active involvement of many Malaysians in various facets of DevConnect, including volunteering, winning hackathons, networking, and the completion of fellowship programs. Most importantly, they are willing to share their experience with aspiring individuals who are keen to become active in this space, just as they previously did.
